Marksman 934
Gurtwurz is this the video you mean of the stoat killing the rabbit? Funny how the others dont seem phased by the chase or presence of the stoat..... wouldnt mind that as a permission though..... Nice shooting again too mate!1 Darryl Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Thanks for the comments, I intend to make all my shots like that one, but I had fun actually stalking it down. I though I had lost it but it was actually moving towards me when I was crawling. The cheapo camo works well! Also the noise from the road helps! Must remember only advance when cars come past at that will muffle the sound of the dry stalks! I will also endeavour to keep the camera ready so if the stoats appear again I can get them on cam. They are simply amazing to watch! Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Moley, are you SURE it was a stoat? Your description has it as being bigger than the kit. A full grown stoat isn't as big as a bunny kit, certainly the ones I've seen haven't been. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
They were 2 kit stoats! They were the young which would explain why they were working as a pair! It was amazing to watch, I have to have a cam down that section again, they should be there for a long time! Plenty of kits for the kits! They were also the ruddy brown with the blacked tail! Stoatally different to the weasel! Edited March 28, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Stoatally different to the weasel! Which is weasily identified! Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
By the fact his tail is blacked and his figure is slightly the bigger! Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Now that is utter, single-minded determination. Picks out one rabbit and focuses on it till the end. Regardless of the others just watching. I'd have thought the rest of the warren would have scarpered fast. Not just gawp at their mate being run down and killed by the stoat. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Same thing happens with kits, I saw it! Just like that but 1/4 size version! Suppose it fitted in well with the track, scale everything down... Quote Link to post
