Recommended Posts

I spied a doe yesterday that looked poorly I had seen her a few times this winter she is barron so decided to drop her but not keen on does at this time of year she looked healthy enough but had long feet ive seen this alot with reds when theyve had an injury and have seen them nearly 10 inches long in severe cases on reds but have had 2 roe this year like this .

when I dresseed her out she had a deformity on the left shoulder and her kidneys were very small and deformed but she was not thin and wieghed in at 13kg carcass wiegth which is ok for this time of year and the winter weve had

There is a name for feet like this but cant remember what it is .....not long for the bucks now

this is a total stab in the dark here....but does this tend to be in older animals? I know in some animals feet problems can occur when the animal has authritus and it trys to compensate for that by walking diffrently therefore causing the feet to overgrow

Roe that I have shot on soft marshy ground have feet like the ones in your pic because they dont wear down due to the soft ground and this could be unrelated to the injury in the shoulder Its a condition called alladins slippers.
