can anybody give me some info about the pigeon racing game what sort of money is needed , flock , food etc

hi mate,,go on to pigeon chat . com and make your self a member,,great bunch of lads on there,,very exspencive hoby,,thats why i have just called it a day as im out of work and carnt afford dogs and pigeons...atb..mark...

Join a local club members will give a novice young birds ,the cash outlay is the loft an old shed will do with a trap fitted ,pick up a clock second hand,but go to a club you will find very helpful people some will show you there set up. You cant match sitting in the garden looking to the sky waiting for your birds,Ive lost touch with corn prices ,some members get together and bulk buy to keep costs down and in the winter a resting mix is a little cheaper or go to farms buy corn/beans.I sadly gave up because of ill health.

get some rollers or summat then mate, kids will love them, an they are a fraction of the cost to buy an keep

good way of startng up - have a look at some of the fancys for a bit of fun you can do the shows . tipplers tumblers high flyers all good fun - some nice lookers in the fancys - duckwing will be on soon he cant resist a pigeon thread ... check out some of his posts top man on the pigeons :thumbs:

if you find a local club to you, im sure alot of lads would start you up with birds for free ,an old clock or loan of

a basket etc,best way to find a local club is by looking at r.p.r.a or n.e.h.u websites.

keeping racing pigeons is expensive i raced them for years ,but due to the cost and having a young family i had to pack in .if you take it up it can become addictive and theres lots of fun to be had . You can go to any club and you will be welcomed with open arms as the sport is in such decline new members are always welcome . But as also sugested you could get some fancy pigeons just for the garden ,i keep a few indian fantails in an avary at the bottom of the garden, these are ornamental pigeons that can barely fly.
