woodga 170
you allways get bad results when the frost comes down as the rabbits wont venture out into the fields a good windy night with a hint of drizzle will see you catch a few in those wires well done on your first attempt anyway Quote Link to post

bellowsface 0
put my first ones out last night only had 5 out no joy this morning, after reading the snaring advice on the site, i had made tealers that put the noose 6 inches above the ground, and 2 were tripped in the way that suggested that they were too low and they had closed up on the nose so that the furry little blighter got out, any ideas what went wrong or was it just a case of the frost and bad luck, any help appreciated, ant recommendations on other sorts of traps to use Quote Link to post
Mitch 0
When i was first starting out, I couldnt catch squat i had alot of problems with the Frying Pan, like you described. What I was doing was setting them In Between the beats. But you set them on a small beat directly in the middle. And i cannot beleive how much more successful this way is. I have very few knocked wires now, Quote Link to post
bellowsface 0
and thats the problem recognising the beats, and believe me i tried to see them Quote Link to post

snareman 3
well done dave like woodga said somtimes you have just wait for the right night but its time never wasted when your just getting started on the snaring its all good pratice frost won,t help , wait till the weather breaks and becomes fresh , also learn to keep your snares neat and tidy , they are lying there like drunk men , and do not disturb the rabbits if you are going to snare them , give them peace , two,s a start just practice and you will become better and more confident , Quote Link to post
