pianoman 3,587
Generally speaking James, for your pcp, yes. Buy a quality Harris job. You won't regret the purchase Simon Quote Link to post

rossy08 33
well i'm kind of in two minds about this at the moment... would i zero my rifle with out the bipod........no.. would i static hunt with out it..........no. however while out at the weekend my bipod fell out of favor with me a little. after it decidet to take a bite out of my new stock,,,, so after a little paddy it was thrown into the gun bag like a toy out my pram...... however this made the gun lighter for the mooching about style hunting that was the plan for the afternoon.(where the bipod gets very little or no use) set about doing some targets prons sitting standing.. and the results from my prone non bipoded efforts were lets say a little slack.. so then... zeroing/static hunting.......bipod anything elce...no...need to go back to my roots a little.... i'v been getting bipod lazey. just my thought and resent exsperiance... Alex Arrigone 24
i commented on a post similar to this a few days ago so i dont know if this is a follow up post and i'll just be repeating myself but here it goes anyway i think i bipod is essential, you may not use it all the time when hunting, however is handy to have, as stated by rossy08, for zeroing and for when you sit off. i suppose its about using the right equipment for the type of shoot you are doing. my friend has an original harris bipod and its great. you wont go wrong with it. but its expensive. i decided to choose a "harris style" bipod for half the price and its exactly the same. i havent had a problem with it and its served me well. atb. alex Quote Link to post

rossi_j 99
I can take em or leave them, but whatever you do dont rely on them, there is only one type of shooting and that is long range static where I will use a bipod, at night they make noise moving the leggs (i scrapped it for night use). Its an inconvinience for rough shooting where 90% of shots ill take standing kneeling or rested on a fence post ect, It gets in the way and catches on things shooting out the van. The extra bit of weight is a pain when shooting up into trees. For me in general it is more of a hinderence than a help in 95% of real hunting situations. I love it for targets and plinking and maybe taking rabbits 45yds + from a static position but thats it!! It gathers dust in my cuboard  Shooting is greatly affected by comfort imo, just make sure your comfy with it Its a personal choice at the end of the day, as you can see from this thread .atb. .ste. Edited to say I only said 45yds + as Im comfident in my ability to take buggs up to 40yds time after time without a bipod I never realy go for 45yard + shots anyway as I mutch prefer to get as close as I can Quote Link to post
