brown trout flies

Recommended Posts

On the rivers I always use at least one dropper. The Black and Peacock or Partridge and Orange always has done well for me. On the point i can think of no finer fly than a Greenwell's Glory. I tie my own, and it sure is a good feeling knowing you have fooled the trout ona fly of your own making....

try hares ear nymph sz12/14 or a black woolly bugger sz10/12 with gold heads on them, they should work well at the start of the season. then once it starts getting warmer get the dry flies out and try to match the hatch.
