JPTfellterrier 65
Although I am still a little frightened I am really starting to like these little ladies, they are helerious. I got them a few toys to clart about in and a harness until i can get a run built so...here it goes black eye white, jill called ouch light polie, jill called shakie, much larger than ouch The following pics are all of shakie she was death rolling like a crocodile in that bag They seem to be a bit nippy when it comes to being first picked up, is this because they still dont trust me? lksopener 105
Look lovely! Just persist with the handling and don't be scared, if they do bite you give them a flick on the nose, they are fast to learn not to do it! :-) Liam Quote Link to post

Have you had them long, maybe they weren't handled enough when they were kits. Keep handling them regularly and they will soon come round. Try handling them after they have fed, i find they are a bit more lethargic with a full belly (sometimes) . ATB Mick Quote Link to post
darbo 4,776
lovely ferrets. same as above just handle them as much as possible. the more you handle them the more confident you will become. good luck with them. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Same as has been said but i wouldnt flick them on the nose, with adult ferrets it just makes them think your a b*****d Feed them, handle them lots, give them an egg to lick up and sit them on your lap, and stroke them, eventually your hands become a very normal thing. Also i dont think you need to tie a rope round her, if your sat on your lawn, you can probably out run her Quote Link to post

My lot are tame as they come but will take a nip at the young lad that comes out with us if they think he's fannying about, one also bit my missus On the face! Quote Link to post

Yeah I try my best not to show my fear, I am getting a friend to get them out the hutch until i have built my confidence, once they are out I am not nervous. shakie (the quieter of the two) when shes on the lead she will get herself on my lap, lie flat out like shes been ran over by a car and i stroke her, she would sit there for hours. Defonatly going to try the egg and the milk thing though. I have been handleing them by holding them as I am in the pictures and stroking there bodies and round there face....i thought if they get used to my smell and me touching all over them it might help. OUCH bitten on the face, myne always try and climb on my head but i dont like em near my face for that exact same reason Quote Link to post
russellpt6 5
Very nice looking ferrets. Just keep on handling them as much as you can and you will have no problems Quote Link to post

bert the fert 28
Lovely pics there It's great to see an owner putting so much effort into handling and playing with their ferts. The little things thrive on attention and stimulation. Hope they turn into really good workers for you Quote Link to post
ryangolding 4
first time i picked up one of my jills, she climbed up my arm and bit straight in to my ear, now shes tame as, even my little 3 year old handles her. Just takes time and handling they will come round Quote Link to post
