secretagentmole 1,701
Today Mrs Mole and I were setting up the new Tascos on the Super Ten and on the T200! When we got down to the range there was an old dear (75 if she was a day), happily letting loose with a Benjamin Nitro gas ram .22! She had been a shotgun shooter all her life and her arthritis was so bad she could not take the recoil from a shotgun anymore. She was also having problems with recoils from her springer air rifle! They have fun shooting rats off the bridtable in the garden from inside their front room. This wee beastie had a skeleton wood stock and was easier for her to cock as well. Her shooting was superb, she was pinging Yakult bottles she had set up at various distances all over the range! She hefted the Hatsan and pronounced it too heavy for her, whereas the Super Ten and the S200 and T200 where ideal! She then let has have a couple of shots with the Benjamin Nitro. Easy to cock, nice to fire, there was recoil, but not as heavy as on a traditional springer and it was nice and powerful as well. She was a great hoot, she accompanies her husband to the range and shoots her air rifle whilst she plinks away on the range! The finish on the Benjamin was a little ropey, the checkering and carving looked to be done with a blunt tool. But for firing and cocking it was easy enough to do and has enabled this old dear to have a continued shooting career and continue rat decimating! So if you are after a gas ram, have a look at a Benjamin, you might just be surprised with the power and accuracy! This is just a write up of a brief encounter with the Nitro, we prefer our PCP rifles but we have a new friend out on the range! Quote Link to post
