whin 463
whats the rules catching wild feral cats with dogs Quote Link to post
coolbreeze 9
Anyone whoo deliberately sets a dog on a cat is a prick and does not give a shit about their dogs either. Talk about giving the sport a bad name. It's shit like this that gives the anti' all the ammo they need. To all the cat killers do us all a favour and take up another pastime like playing on the road, preferably a busy one. well said Quote Link to post

Tyla 3,179
When you read a thread like this it makes you sad as a genuine hunter because it makes you realise that the tools in the game now will ensure that the ban never gets lifted... thank you pal. Where the f**k are all the genunie hunters.... stand up for our sports against low life pretend hunters. Its always the same, in my eyes there is a HUGE divide between hunters and people who just want to kill stuff. Unfortunately this divide is pretty much invisible to the general public so we all get tarred with the same brush. Its even worse since the ban as the same people who just want to kill things tend to get a kick out of blatantly breaking the law so now even more of them are in the dog game. As far as cats go, i cant see why anyone would want to kill a kids pet and this little island of ours has few places left where you are likely to come across cats you can guarantee are not someones pet. There will no doubt be a few exceptions to this rule especially in ireland, Australia is also different feral cats there are a genuine problem and are treated as such. Quote Link to post
lurchermania 25
I was walking the dogs one day and a cat jumped from the step of a house....the dogs hadn't even seen it.... As it jumped out it clawed my girl and ran like feck. I was shocked to say the least and as I checked her face I noticed a sighn in the house window( a home isn't a home without a cat) so I knocked on the door and asked if she had a Ginger cat and asked what is she gunna do when I get the vet bill and she said nothing. So I told her to keep the cat in doors cox next time I will set the dogs off. Mind you I said it in anger and decided not to walk that way anymore to save temptation.... Ste me back 60 smackers that day ... Oh so your answer is I hate the bloody things haha Quote Link to post

nancy 275
not a cat lover, but try to keep my dogs of them. Years ago had biza bitch 25in 55lb, that would tackle any think on 4 legs. One day she was marking a thick hedge, thought prob a rabbit was in there. When out poped a feckin big tom cat, both dog+cat went off like bomb .It clamped on to her head, i kicked the fecker off and got the bitch. Took her home cleaned her face, few rips. But next day her left leg was twice the size, she was in a bad way. Took her right to the vet, he kept her in 2 days on a drip. Vet said if i hadnt gone so quick, she could have lost the leg it had gone (gangrene) Cats are nasty+dirty feckers, i do try to keep away if i can Bad News cats and dogs dont mix there should only be 1 winner Quote Link to post

Pops 19
i don't have to go looking for them, my salukiXgrey has done alot of them in his run (20'X60'), 5 in one year. if the owners had known they would have flipped out. but it's their fault for letting the roam. i hunt a lot of big public lands and let the dog freecast like a cur or hound. if he bumps them they're done. since they won't let us thin out the raptors, between them and the cats in some places back east you can go years between rabbits, quail are all gone except where they raise and release on shooting preserves. when i was a kid rabbit & quail were everywhere even in the neighborhoods but not so many cats, raptors & fur prices had the trappers hammerin the coon, bobcat and coyote. now tons of predators eating each other but no game to speak of except deer. so i let the dog take coon, feral cat (anything more than a mile from homes) and the odd fox. i never let him on a rabbit beccause i almost never see them. at this point i'm tempted to plant european rabbits because the native cottontail are almost gone everywhere i've been. FWIW cat tastes a lot like pork. Quote Link to post
