working terriers

what kind of terriers do you all prefer and why i have saw alot of terriers graft over the years now some of which were to hard for thare own good and some thats shit and are not worth the grub the eat my terriers are not perfect anything but perfect to be honest but i do think its alot to do with who has the terriers so what does everyone think

Ive only had one terrier myself but he was a border lakie half cross brilliant bushing dog, smashed rats and did a few fox aswell. Very obedient dog, Sensible and a great worker.

Not bothered what breed they are as long as they do the job i want from them,ie...find,and stay till dug to no matter what the depth or what sort of soil or situation it may be.They are all terriers whether they be black white smooth or rough,hard or steady as long as they do the job thats all that matters.

i prefer black patterdale types myself i have a lakeland pup at the moment so will see how it goes

hi ,my dad had borders from when he was a lad hes said they were the dog for him they would bush rabbits ,mark rabbits, rat you name it till we had a border who got out the gate and hit by a car .then he did not have a dog to work and my dads mate had just bort 2 patterdales from derek wheeler and he left one at my dads (gave him one or so he was told but my mum had payed him for it )after that he would never have any othere breed .he saye that borders are a good working dog (if from the right lines ) but patterdale terrier are the cream of the cream . we had the first patterdale in the 80s

my bro has borders and lakelands but i prefer patterdales strong dogs and have never let me down

I think he ment that no pat "jacks", although id say ders a higher % of patterdales actually make da grade den other terrier breeds, just my opinion
