Country Joe 1,411
If rabbits and ferreting is your game, I would use a nice Working Whippet sire, Whippet X Beddy X Greyhound. You are not putting in a lot more crosses, and there should be an interest in the Pups of this cross. Edited March 20, 2011 by Country Joe Quote Link to post
samstorm 34
Why not a beddy/whippet? Giving the coat the feat. And giving a bit more take off speed Quote Link to post
hairybull 3
What do you want from the pups. Are you keeping one back and what do you wish to do with it? Quote Link to post
SalukiBULLJP 27
What do you want from the pups. Are you keeping one back and what do you wish to do with it? Hi bud...depending on what your after ie.speed and turning or a bit more robustness i'd recommend to cross back with a bedlingtonx whippet as theyre always a keen and speedy worker or to bring on some size to the pups possibly a bullxcolliexgreyhound......like mentioned before it all depends on what your doing with the pups-especially if your keepin one to work off youself mate.... whin 463
get agood saluki type like the whippet greyhound crosses ive saw back to your beddie the best will put alot of goodness in to them pace running brain and stamina , got on epals have them they catch game any were make 25 inches , or a [bANNED TEXT] good line bred collie type lurcher ,its not a type of dog its ther working ability that counts Quote Link to post
lloyd-holmes 15
id go either for another beddy grey or a grey/whippet , imo if you go for your mates deer/grey collie/grey their would be that much different blood and genes that the pups would grow up to be all sizes , all looking different , just because the bitch is 24 and your mates is 25-26 doesnt always mean that the pups will fall somewhere between the two , yes its likely that some will but then u may get 1 that throws more to the deerhound and turns out 28tts or one that turns more to the beddy at 19 tts , at the end of the day mate its your choice ,, ATB LLOYD Quote Link to post
fatlad 250
if you like the way your mates dog works then use it always best to use a dog that you know is a good worker Quote Link to post
rocky1 942
hows old both dog in question?what do you want of the pups?what height 2 want the pups 2 make? Quote Link to post
fresh earth 47
Wouldnt use a beddy whippet as if your dogs doing what you want at that size then a beddy x whippet mite drop the hight a bit short for you. Also your then still half terrier 1/4 whip 1/4 grey. I would go for maybe a 3/4 beddy grey of a simular size keep the pups a simular size to your bitch and a dash more runnning dog than terrier. Depends totaly on what you want out the pups if you want a rabbiting dog only then i would go with a decent whippet. Quote Link to post
