Guest dee mac Posted July 15, 2011 Report Share Posted July 15, 2011 a fella a few years ago that was in local gun club along with me used too own a coocker bitch black and white give tongue on a fox and fox only he ran her with a wheaten x hound best dog i ever seen too hunt fox only one prob he was silent so they put a bell on him plus if cocker bitch spoke then you new the wheaten x was already on the job and too be on your toes plus he was famous for catching foxes in the cover before they could even break too the guns if they went too ground he was there trying too get in and on many ocassion was found half hanging out of old tree trunks etc with his fox and trying too get it pulled out into day light to give it last rights on appearence he looked like a full wheaten colour coat etc but was a tad taller and lighter boned but still had the big strong head and he could cover ground in style the only fault the dog had was with him being silent his colour and the fact that he was always so close too his fox he was pickled up too 5 or 6 times and one occasion my old fella actually was guilty of giving him one barrell thank fully it was through thick cover he had a stay in the vets but was back out again in no time dog died of old age i think but an uncle of mine reckons it was lead poisioning that got him in the end as he d been shot more times than 50 cent and lived too tell the tale Quote Link to post
