yellow belly 0
Joe Irving's book is great, but one thing i would say that dint work for me with my ESS is that i should of taught her HEAL as soon as i could. As she started to pull all the time and want to dash off to do her own thing. luckerly a friend pointed me in the right direction. If you want a Pro's advice, give Andy Cullen a ring at www.laochingundogs.com he's real top bloke and knows his stuff, he's helped me out no end of times when i need a push in the right direction. Other then that, dont EVER introduce it too cold/warm/any form of game till its brilliant on a dummy, as mine now will never look at a dummy the second shes out the house and garden. Hope this is of some use! Quote Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
My pup is now seven months old and still in training, from what I can garther its best to get the pup training asap, nothing to hetic, sit and retrieve, I did the same with my pup when she was young and its seems to have stood her well. I am now at the stage where she will do most tasks, she is seven months old and with this been my first spring like yourself I was keen to get her going. Did I get in front of myself with the training?, I dint know but time will tell. The best bit of advice that I could give you is to enjoy the pup and make every session a playful time for the pup, I was given this advice by a member on here and it good sound advice. I wish you the best with the pup and please keep us informed. Quote Link to post
