Had another person on at me asking me to get on top of his rabbits, Been held up with my main areas of permission and family but thought I should put in an apperance before height of summer arrived !

dont like ferreting with young about but some of us have to do it to keep landowners happy.

was knot that easy to find this place check out this sign :icon_eek:

anyway I finaly arrived with Scrapman and we were shown boundarys and got the relevent permission slips signed,

we took the 410 2 whippet crosses and a terrier along with purse nets long nets and a recentley knitted stop net, The first burry looked promising but produced nout!? moving on we made a start on a large burry under some holly bushes, rather than net all the holes we ran a long net 5yrds into the wood leaving the dogs garding the field side. the clients arrived to watch proceedings and after a short wait number one hurteled into the net the dogs arrived first with me in hot pursuit.

quickly dispached a second made a bid for the open field, once again the dogs did there job  this was followed by a quick hole hopper. I removed my best albino jill whom had surfaced and entered her behinde the hole hopper, a short wait and number three was claimed by the net.

With loss of intrest from the ferrets we moved on to a long hedge row. The plan was simple with rabbit fencing on the back side a stop net would be run through the hedge to stop any retreat and any foward runners would be claimed by the tools we had picked.

with the sun high layers were removed and we worked our way up the hedge with net, dogs and 410 claiming rabbits one dig to the albino gill who had a doe in a stop end.

What a day satisfied clent bit of grub for the frezzer and som happy clients dogs and ferrets

Nice read mate pleased to see somebody else still doing a bit

Your lucky being up there mate, we are onto our second generation of young already from this year (i.e the first lot of kits are now breeding themselves). Little ones literally everywhere, above and below ground, ferretings a total waste of time.

Thats a few less to breed this year. Well done :notworthy:

Just because they are breeding where you are, doesn't mean they are breeding near him, or maybe he wants to keep permission and ferrets till it just isn't possible anymore.

Rabbits are the master of survival, you will NEVER be able to wipe out the rabbits, maybe thin them but never get rid of totally!

As for NEVER wiping them out. . . . . . .not true. . . . there is ALWAYS a way.
