The one 8,468
We went out today to a new bit of ground for us the farmer said once you have the rabbits under control here you can do the rest of my ground at my brothers and today was that day It was just a huge field quite the largest ive seen for up here and the burrows where just in the ditch surrounding the field i didn't know what to expect so i had put fifeteen foot collars on the jills but they weren't needed On the way to the first burrow the dog jumped the burn and marked a clump of grass at a gettt onnn she grabbed it and the first rabbit was in the bag :toast:The rest bolted easily with one needing dug out at a foot and when i was gutting it she was full of young . We then went back to the farm and had a walk through a wee wood and pick up a odd one then the lurcher coursed one and put it to ground and it wouldn't bolt so the spade came out for the second time and the rabbit was soaking but in the bag . As we where walking back to the car the dog marked a gorse bush another gettt onnn she grabbed a pheasant relised her mistake and spat it out as it flew away my son expressed his displeasure as he thought it was going to be his tea  The cars still loaded up for tommorrow and i hope thats as easy as today Quote Link to post

I would kill for a days ferreting, but its just a clusterfuck now, way too many hoppers everywhere. Good luck to you carrying on for another week or two, but i dont think you will get long looking outside! Quote Link to post
