adammubu 0
I've been checking my ferrets over today and cleaning out the hutch. whilst going over my big hob who has just come into season, I have seen he has some black type spots that look like they are attached to the bottom of the hairs of his back legs. They don't seem to be bothering him but I don't like them. Does anybody know what they are and how to get rid of them? Click to enlarge. ATB, Adam. adammubu 0
Phew! thanks very much. I was afraid he might have some flea or mite or something. Im the only person in my area that has ferrets, so i have no-body else to ask. This forum is a godsend. And that is right Kay, its right at the root of the hair and is greasy when you pull a bit off. Thanks again ATB, Adam. Quote Link to post

Thanks again ATB, Adam. Its usually more noticeable when there in season as they produce more oils & musk .. if you keep the bedding changed a couple of times a week it helps .. bathing them is pretty pointless as they just produce more oils as there generally more greasy to the touch this time of year its simply dust & bits & peices all stuck to the skin so it looks dirty Quote Link to post
ferrety f 23
I also thought flea dirt ( dried blood ) at first but agree with kay.. way to check for flea dirt, put it on wet tissue and it goes red Quote Link to post
