ade33uk 86
Im going to get shot down for this , but here goes , im about to put my european poley ( big softy now) over my best working jill , now ive only worked him once and he killed in constantly and came out the burrows like a lunatic ,the jill is superb worker but a bit on the small side . my plan is to start a line with the fire of the european poley and the working ability of the jill , I dont know if these kits will be better or if they will still be a bit hot , but thats the reason Im doing it .. Right the real reason for this post I have several mates after a kit but I would rather be over subscribed than have kits left .. is there any one in South Wales interested in a kit , these will not be for the lads who clean they cages out once in a blue moon , and just chuck a bit of food in now and again these kits are going to have to be handled every day , they may not work as you want them to they may be killing machines that you have to dig to all the time ... think that they may be biters and you will have to work hard to get them to trust you .. so no taking them and then passing them on cos you got bit .. I wont want much money for them but I may need to breed from them in the future and if you get fed up I get them back or know the home they are going to .. Im counting my chickens before they hatch , but i would rather be prepared than not .. ive made them sound like nutters they most prob wont but if you are willing to accept the worst and willing to put the work in everything should be ok .. The hob only behind bars cos he can smell the jills and wont keep still and the jill along side the euro poley jill Please guys dont shoot me down to much about breeding non working animals , I know the score there , but i believe theres method in my madness .. 1 Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Well. Like Ive said before, working ability is all ,when it comes to breeding . But, adding a line that you know and that you think will work, sounds like you kinda know what you will get out of it. I suspect you`re making it sound worse than you actually think it will be , Good luck and keep us posted.,, ATB Quote Link to post
Paid 935
Sounds like a fair enough plan. The jill does look quite young, is she last years? Quote Link to post
ade33uk 86
No the jill is 3 now but her first litter , she is tiny and good worker very quick , yeah im hoping its not going to be that bad but i would rather someone willing to put the effort in than someone who gets bit once and then gets rid , the other euro poley jill in the bottom pic was very scared and timid and would bite like nothing ive had before shes better now after a lot of hard work( still a bit nervous of her ) , but i wont breed her there would be no point to it euro to euro would just be the same , maybe in a season or two i may find a hob to put over her but not yet . burny2011 12
you may have to just keep them for the blood line because i have a half wild euro polecat and the kit of him will never work (because they run away from you and keep out of your way )but i have found that when you breed them down to about 12 PERSENT WILD BLOOD LINE then and only then god have you got one of the best ferrets polecats you will ever have workin they are then your worth taking out working you will never go back to a standed ferret again the polecats with wild blood lines in them are the cream of the cream try to get a darker jill and you will breed BLACK kits with a cream chin Edited March 21, 2011 by burny2011 1 Quote Link to post
