wirral countryman 2,110 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Share Posted March 19, 2011 I owned a first cross 25yr ago when they were a bit more popular,he stood at 32tts and even when fully fit was far too slow for most fields in the northwest,he took too long to get up to speed,he was a lovely dog,great temperament,his only redeeming factor was he was good on a dig,he went north to scotland to my mate were he did a lot better with him,he just needed more ground to run at than down here.I've had a few deerhound/greyhound x collie/greyhounds crosses and they are much quicker off the mark and will take all quarry,don't get cut on wire and are very tough allround dogs,some can seem a little laid back at times but they are a very honest cross capable of anything asked of them,atb,wirralman Quote Link to post

rocky1 942 Posted March 19, 2011 Report Share Posted March 19, 2011 my deerhound/bull/grey have tutned out top allrounders ,both do the lot ,only that can seperate is my bitch is a little better on rabbits and the big boy finishes the job quiker on the big stuff ,but yes mate you won,t go far wrong from 1 of trever stock ,in few seasons i,ll been entering 2 blood into my pack ,thats what i,ll be doing getting 1 of trevand when makes the grade , i,ll but my bull/deerhound/grey over it ,just 2 add alittle bit more fire in the belly , Quote Link to post
