jill dragging other one about

ive noticed when i get my 2 jills indoors,,sometimes the slightly larger one trys to drag the littler one about by her throat,,,,they usually play fight indoors but i never seen it in their shed where they live,,,,i dont know if its anything to do with their season still or not because i had them both spayed on 2nd march last year when they were both about 9 months old,,,,,,,any ideas?,thanks in advance

Unless its aggressive behaviour i would not worry, some still show maternal behavior after spaying once the in season time starts, it will stop shortly..

also have a hob that drags the girls around a bit at certain times and hes had his clackers off..

Hormonal Jills will drag round any ferret regardless .. not sure why peeps are supprised they drag male ferrets round.. the mother looks after both sexes in the litter not just jills :blink:

when you say about mothering and hormones going into overdrive....does it still affect spayed jills?,,i would have thought that being spayed their hormones would not be present?,,,please tell me if im being thick or something but i wanna be sure in case it gets more aggressive,,thanks in advance,,dave

As i said in my 1st post ... yes it can still affect spayed jills, it only lasts a week or two and she will drag others about ( think they must be programmed :laugh: ) she wont get aggressive just motherley :thumbs:

why do that to a hob ferret for gods sake why its not right :thumbdown:

 

I take it you don`t have ferrets mate. Either that or you know nothing about keeping them.

Hobs get castrated to allow a number of hobs to live together in the same court. It does not affect there working ability and can save a lot of grief.

 

Sounds like the "silly girl " knows more about it, maybe she could help you learn a bit about keeping them.
