Big Paul 0
The HW100 better magazine system 2 of which are supplied and sits low in the gun so mounting a scope is not an issue , loading system is probably better than any other gun out there and fast to re load, silencer included in the price which again is a damn good one , but less shots (although plenty for hunting) all this and for a lot less than a ranger about £300 , yesterday I shot 14 pellets in about a 1'' grouping at over 100 yards , so its accuracy is not in doubt , standing shots are easy with it to , in karbine format its great for hide shooting or out of 4x4's , get the HW and with the money you save get more mags a bipod and lots of pellets you'll need them. davyt63 1,845
hi buddy the only advantage you will have in buying a air wolf, will be the MK2 Twink that now comes as standard with any daystate air rifle i believe? as http://www.amcustomgunsmiths.com/silencers.html now supply daystate! i was at a HFT course last year, and a competitor had a "air wolf" as soon as the day reached a certain temperature its zero was all over the place!! i advised him to get the buddy bottle dressed in a white cover. which will reflect the heat, and keep him on zero? i have owned 2 HW100'S and have just bought another, this rifle will out shoot the shooter any day of the week,my last score at HFT was 56? with the AAS410K .177, i plan to beat it with the HW100 .177? but i must warn you if? you have noodle arms this rifle is not for you !!!!! regards Davy Quote Link to post

sibaldib 6
I agree with davy that the HW100 is a heavy gun, but in thumbhole carbine form it balances beautifully. Also, shooting fronm a Landrover (with little room to move) it is perfect. The loading system is excellent and the accurracy is superb. Cheers Sib Quote Link to post
19powell90 89
hey pal ive just had this exact same dilemma 2day. i went for the hw100kt as the build of it is flawless aswell as the the two mags and silencer as standard. also the magazine on the daystate is shite in my opinion ( its just too complicated ) i did a quick chrono of the hw100 and the fps differential was 10FPS!!! hope you make the right choice - i know i did! atb scott Quote Link to post

mad al 146
back to the original question, both versions are a class act but if it's for pure field work, I'd go for the Ranger, less to go wrong as I think you won't have the electronic shite to drag around with ya! Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,936
Hmmm dunno really I own a ranger and love it, easily the best rifle I`ve had. never having shot the HW100 I can`t comment on it ,but it looks great. Not ass great as the Air Ranger though When spending that much,, I`d really want to try both before handing over any folding ! ATB Quote Link to post
