Lamp recommendations

Recommended Posts

Now that my FAC has been approved (just have to wait for the post) could anybody recommend me a decent lamping kit please? I'm not sure what would be best as I will be both on foot and shooting from a vehicle (when I need to cover more ground. In the past I've used a scope mounted light and used to use a separate hand held unit when driving, with a mate doing the lamping. This was a good 10 years ago now so I appreciate things have moved on a bit now- what would you guys recommend?

Thanks

Andy

I was in the same situation a few months ago.i asked this question as i had used the same old lamp for ten years and wanted a new one more up to date and that assisted my fox shooting With centrefire.i was advised on the lightforce 170 With amber filter.i bought one and its great Ive been missing out not having one.the old lamp was great on my rimfire just not enough range for the 223 also the 170 is clear as a bell at the extra distance With a good battery.shot a fox a week ago and i could see every hair on its back out to 150 yards easy. With a good lamp and good scope its spot on.if its advise You need this site is the place to ask. Atb rich

the best tool for the job would be a lightforce,,blitz/stricker/lance,, you could have it fitted to the roof of the motor and use it hand held,,,, depends if you want to drill a hole in the roof??????? bit of advice get the variable it's worth the extra money

As said ^^^^^ Lightforce! Blitz if you have a mate to lamp tightest beam, longest distance, brightest at distance. 170 if you want to mount it and hold it.

I have a blitz for when I go out with a buddy doing the lamping and I've got a deben max pro scope mounted when I go alone. The max is nice and light pretty bright but not as tight and bright as a lightforce. Reason I bought it was it's smaller than the lightforce 170 and lighter and brighter (now)than my lightforce 140 from 1966.
