events co-ordinator 353
This year in Scotland we've already lost one gamefair and while Selby may not be the best it has a decent terrier and lurcher show and should be supported I can't attend this year due to work and familly commitments but I hope Paddy and Chriss get a good turnout as I know the work behind the shows its a thankless task getting judges is a nightmare as we are fast running out of masochists to judge terriers and lurchers due to the amount of stick they get after the event on sites like this. \its all very well slagging shows but when the numbers drop and the traders stop coming the fair is finnished I was on a stand at Shugborough and I know the logistics behind the shows between the hike in vat and the increase in fuel a lot of traders have got to think twice so support at least your local shows tell the organisers the things you want to see even volunteer to help on a SACS/CA/Basc/ SGA/NGO stand.Or help with the terrier /lurcher show remember EVERY SHOW WE LOSE GIVES OUR MEMBERSHIP ORGANISATIONS AND CLUBS LESS MONEY TO FIGHT OUR CORNER ITS A CASE OF USE IT OR LOSE IT. Sorry but please tell what Selby has to offer working dogs? as for the show itself you could walk round it in well under an hour OK if your thinking of buying a hot tub or plastic table cloths but very little fieldsport related stuff at all mainring? fire engine doing wheelies t+l show a few visitors from N.Ireland come for the racing and go down to Kelmarsh to race and come back to camp(they wont be able to this year) NOT my idea of a GF would be better to rename it Selby Car Boot with t+l show Y.I.S Leeview
