jamie g 17
the new ase cqbs would work very well on 222 it covers most of the above apart from price ! Quote Link to post
matt_hooks 188
Asking that question will yield at least three different answers. The "best" moderator (NOT silencer, you can't silence a supersonic round!) is unlikely to be the cheapest, and again is unlikely to be the shortest (though it might be the quietest, if that's your description of "best") You could use a parker hale rimfire moderator. I can't see it being very effective, nor lasting very long, but it would be short and cheap. Any moderator can only reduce the noise from expanding gases. You will still get the supersonic crack from a .222, so the amount of noise reduction is limited. The ASE mods are well spoken of, but there are many others at varying price levels that might do the job just as well. Quote Link to post
Guest ragumup
Thanks for helping Jamie g and not lecturing me like some i thought about the jet or the t4 ? just off to check out the ase cqbs, I'm back 300 notes your right it not cheap second hand t8 for 50 notes sound good but they seem to rust and fall to bits if not looked after, something i'm not good at (the next bullet will clean it lol) Edited March 16, 2011 by ragumup Quote Link to post

sako 23
Sorry to jump on someone else's thread but I just bought a .204 with an ace ultra mod. the mod is a .30 cal. The rifle is louder than my 22-250 is this because the diameter of the hole is so large. The shop only stock .30 so I phoned and they said they'd see if they could get a .22 mod. Have I done the right thing? Quote Link to post

sako 23
Danw, that was the selling factor for me-maintenance free! I just fired 20 rds through it and it doesn't seem as loud now Im used to it. The 40g were not grouping like my 22-250 at 100 yrds though so Im a bit dissapointed! Quote Link to post
