rossi_j 99
Snare bait ??? What was this bait you speak of?? And what kind of snare?? .atb. .ste. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
Just the bait down there, no sanre visible, can't figure out why someone would snare that bit of bank unless bunnies go down there to drink the water! Bait was potato peelings and carrots. Snares were a bit of wood with some soft wire on. I had found some earlier in the week but left them alone. rossi_j 99
Strange?!? Dont you think? Snares yes, I have the same kind, wooden pegs with brass wire, with string between and a steel tealer. But bait? Wtf? A bit odd that imo moley. .atb. .ste. Quote Link to post
secretagentmole 1,701
I know but the distraction of the bait at me feet caused me to look at it whilst easing the bladder pressure, then when I looked up I saw a fiver in the brambles, was well chuffed bunny and beer tokens! These snares were just steel wire, no string, wooden tealer/peg like a bit of old fence baton! I don't think they worked that well! When I am down there again I will get a photo of one, I must admit I mangled one standing on it, was not looking for it when I climbed to the top of one bunny tower Edited March 19, 2011 by secretagentmole Quote Link to post

secretagentmole 1,701
I think bugs and co have been going round them, who baits snares with potato peelings and carrots??? I thought snares were unbaited! Oh well, have not seen any bunnies caught in them! Will be back on the permission when I have my Hawke zeroed in! I love it down there, good variety of wildlife, have been considering shooting the bumblebees but can't find any recipies for cooking them! Damned things are close to 3 inches long!
