Ron Weasley 83
Now then! I've recently taken delivery of a tin of Falcon Accuracy Plus, and a tin of the new Daystate Rangemaster Li pellets, both in .22 for use in my BSA R10. I've been a faithful AccuPell user for years, and have never had any issues with them, in either my HW95K, or my R10, or before that my old Mk1 SuperTen. However, after reading a few bits and pieces regarding these other two pellets, I thought I'd get some to put them to the test. While I was at it, I figured it would be worthwhile testing every other brand of pellets I can get my hands on. I had a root around the house and also managed to find a tin of MatchPells and a tin of RWS Superdomes. My plan was simple...zero to my usual 30 yards using my usual AccuPell ammo, and then fire a 5 shot group at different targets using each ammo. I don't have a chrono, so I can only report on the groupings. It was very gusty though, so these don't really represent a fair test, but it's the only chance I'll have for a few days at least. I'll probably have another crack at this when it's a calm day. Here's what I found. 1. AccuPell 2. MatchPell 3. Daystate RangeMaster Li 4. Falcon Accuracy Plus 5. RWS Superdome I've highlighted the point of aim on each target to give you an idea. I was incredibly surprised by the Superdomes. These came as the 'recommended ammo' when I first bought the rifle around two years ago, and after about 50 shots, I reverted to Accupell as they were sprayed around all over the place - not dissimilar to the MatchPells in this case! (I'm not sure MatchPell still exist...I think they may now be marketed as VerminPell?) When I first received the Daystate Rangemaster Li's, there was something incredibly familiar about them...the tin (aside from the label, of course) is identical to the AccuPell tin. The pellets look identical too. I'll do some more testing, but I'm fairly certain these have just been repackaged. I was skeptical of the Falcon Accuracy Plus, as when I first opened the tin, I picked through and pulled out no less than 40 mis-shaped pellets. Even as I thumbed them into the magazine, not one of the 5 pellets I used had the same skirt as the next one. That said, the results speak for themselves! Quote Link to post

Ron Weasley 83
nice one mate, were you useing a shot gun for the match pell.lol Andy Haha, I know. I couldn't believe what was happening. I can't explain that at all...it was especially windy while I was taking those particular shots, but the grouping was ridiculous. Quote Link to post
rossy08 33
was out on thursday in the wind trying a few pells my self in the s400, while my mate was doing the same with his daystate, had some awfulll groups due to the wind, over 30 meters it was blowing the pells off a full milldot, but was very impressed with beisley mags tho. i consider my self very lucky my s400 seams to like most pells so far (aa's h&n accupell the mags falcones) where as my mates daystate has been spitting nearly every thing its been fed all over the place, with shocking results, (both guns are .177) what did you think to the new daystates? how do they look in the tin i mean? Ron Weasley 83
They look just like Accupells or Premiers! They scream quality though. I had a look through and didn't find a single one the was damaged or mis-shaped. Was a little disappointed with their grouping, but we'll see how I fare next time. Quote Link to post
rossy08 33
sound like they may be worth a try, whats bad in one gun can often be good in another..as we all no. but if your not getting many bad ones got to be worth looking at. cheers mate. Andy Quote Link to post
eddiej35 10
The new daystate pellets come from one die , so there should be no variation in pellets at all . Theres nothing worse than looking on tins or boxes to make sure the die`s used are the same as the usual ones you use. Quote Link to post
