Over the last year or so the ferret section has been going the same way as the lurcher section and it's not for the better.

the trouble is, unless you pin every topic in its own page, and therefore take the whole first page up with pinned topics, we will still get duplicate posts asking the same questions, the hunting life has been going a fair while, and belive it or not, your not the first member to ask for "pinned topics for newcomers" it has been tried before, and guess what, we still got new posts, asking the same questions, that were answered in the pinned area, I can understand you saying not everyyone is pc minded, but the search facility (top right of page, under your name) is simple enough for everyone, enter a search word and click the button, if they have got here already, logging in to the site is harder than searching, and Im affraid, Im with the attitude, if someone cant be bothered to search out the information thats here, or other areas on the internet, they shouldent be keeping a ferret

I still think a sticky would help, but I can understand why theres none,

New people can`t be bothered to use the search button and people get sick of hearing the same questions again and again.

sometimes you will get 3 or 4 threads, all together in a row all asking the same thing.

Has to be said though,, some people ask stupid questions then want to go on and breed ferrets, THATS what gets folks back up !.People asking for advise then just ignoring it anyway !!

It`s just the same this time of year ,every year.

If people dont want a reply they shouldn`t post. This is a public open forum.

Use the search and post a sensible question,, get sensible answers,,,simples!

Even though folk take the piss,, they generally get the answer they need or find out where to get it,

They do want a reply but they want to be told what they are asking. My point is if any one reads a thread and posts something thats not helping the person, Y post sumet that dont help. And people do put sensible posts up but just get s**t back

I don`t really see many sensible posts getting shot down Oz, debate is healthy and it`s how we all learn more.

If people rip in to someone for posting a stupid question, they are still learning something,,even if it`s just that there question was stupid.

Having a thick skin is a requirement of being on a forum with 32,492 members. If you can`t take the heat etc!!

try posting on the lurcher forum,, they are much more forgiving !

one or two pinned threads that are locked and can only be edited by a select few who know there stuff addin content they know will be helpfull is whats needed.aye not everyone will read it,but if two out of five do then its still doing the job.when people do repeat posts we can link them to the pinned threads saying have a read over that mate.
