Mine have never eaten processed dog food and are doing fine. Were weaned straight onto raw and doing well on it. I have never seen shinier healthier looking dogs and they have loads of energy. Well lo

Forget the puppy meal and feed it 4 times a day as much as it can eat ..you'll know when to cut this down to 3 because it will start refusing food.A puupy should be able to eat nearly as much as an adult dog over a 24 hour period.

IMHO Raw food and processed food are digested at different rates so feed one or the other. Again IMHO feeding dry only can repress a dogs digestive system

There are a lot of variations, but I would feed a young pup with a good complete, make sure the first ingredients on the bag say Meat, I would feed complete with Goats milk in the Morning, and afternoon, and then one meal of raw Mince teatime and some more later, small amounts four times a day, you can drop to three meals later,

Theres lot of different ways to feed, you can give Egg mixed with rice pudding for breakfast some times, you can also buy cheap Chicken and boil it up, keep the juice to mix and feed the cooked Chicken, when a bit older you can also feed Chicken wings, you can break the bone with a hammer better to chew, its up to you, but I would not leave Pup with Chicken Wings on its own.

Supplements, you can give Powdered seaweed, Brewers yeast powder, Flaxseed oil,

don't give these every day, say twice a week.

as I say you don't need to stick to beef mince, you can feed rabbit, Lamb and knuckle bones good source of calcium.

All depends how many Dogs you have, if only one, you can buy raw free flow mince at pets at home, or Supermarket basics, or Iceland, but if you have more than one you would be better buying from one of the animal feeds like DAF, but you would need a small freezer, but a lot cheaper, hope this has given you some food for thought.

Forgot to mention when Pup hits 10Months and you want to keep on Raw I would stop Complete and feed a Quality Mixer Biscuit like Foldhill Puppy

Also remember some Raw veg twice a week, if you can get it to eat it..

there are so many different views on rearing a pup its unbelievable at times,i pretty much do as you do but would say their main diet is chicken carcasses above all else with all the usual left overs etc thrown in as well my pups have been fat and healthy from day one

how old is the pup etc, and as said, feed as much as in a 10 min period 3-4 times a day, i start with a cereal meal in the morning, ie porridge/weetabix, then dinner time a meat meal, mince, chicken mince or carcasses etc, then a biscuit meal and then a mix of complete meal and meat, dont forget add a little veg now and again.

Also sardines or pilchards they like

All of my pups have been on raw meat and bones from the moment i got them. There was always a bowl of complete puppy (usually burns or beta) down for them too in case they wanted it. As said they also get a tin of sardines, pilchards, whatever in either tomatoe sause or oil, not brine. Eggs are good too. Always make sure you give them some blended up veg too tho, mix it in with mince meat or the fish or they wont eat it.

As said above there are so many different ways.

For about the first 4 months i fed a meal of complete biscuit about 5 times a week for piece of mind that he was getting vitamins and minerals.

Main diet was breast of lamb and minced tripe.

Also various minced meats, offal, cooked veg and rice, brown bread soaked in egg and goats milk, tinned fish in oil.

Think variety. Good luck.

A lot of Working owners say this that when feeding raw Stamina appears to improve.
