Cleanspade 3,324
its very simple. you need to handle a dog. how else will you get to see a good undercoat/feel the texture of the topcoat. check for parasites / feel the thickness of the dogs skin. check for two nuts examine the ears and eye's. allways a good indicator of health. as are the teeth. the temprement is aso tested to a degree whilst handling a dog. i know its just a bit of fun but the judge will want to end up with a good specimen that is fit for purpose and well made
burny2011 12
Most people get confused by thinking a working terrier show is for working terriers only. Which is utter bullshit. It is a beuty pagent. Nothing more nothing less. No one can determine by looks how much a dog has grafted or its ability, it is purely about looks and phisical structure. Thats why I will never be part of one. If you are into terriers for looks, you may as well buy a shitzu and go to f*****g crufts. Turns my stomach when people spout their bullshit about their working terriers which have never seen graft, they may be bred from working terriers, but in my eyes that makes it even worse because they are single handedly ruining a working breed. Enjoy your show season lads, each to their own. FTB
