I wouldn't be proud of a dog that behaved like that in public, it sounds dangerous, not 'a laugh' and could make you look a right tube. Dogs who are stressed and don't enjoy the social side of these

good to see your not bitter lol

Any body who judges lurcher shows deserves a medal bigger than the town hall clock done it once only never ever again lol.

Its the nature of the 'working dog show' or in fact any show, birds, cheep, flowers, cakes - it's bollocks. What did you expect? It's life but what gets on my tits is just the way that you always get those folk (usually female) who genuinly think that they have a 'working dog' because of its breed  And they act non-plussed when you say 'well. . . . it shouldn't really be here should it . . ' . But then define worker. . . .

I judged a show that you were at last year, least ways i think it was you. Not sure was it your wife as well with you, had some nice whippetts, and, I think, a small stamp of lurcher. There was a very nice lady doing the stewarding in the ring with me, she had never done it before, but did a sterling job. Pity the organisers hadnt stuck to the show schedule tho, there was people bringing dogs into the ring as it said on the schedule that class was next, only to be told that there was other classes in front, lovely venue, some real nice dogs, nice people, Tivvyside Hunt, potential for an outstanding show.

B

Most people get confused by thinking a working terrier show is for working terriers only. Which is utter bullshit.

It is a beuty pagent. Nothing more nothing less.

No one can determine by looks how much a dog has grafted or its ability, it is purely about looks and phisical structure.

Thats why I will never be part of one.

If you are into terriers for looks, you may as well buy a shitzu and go to f*****g crufts. Turns my stomach when people spout their bullshit about their working terriers which have never seen graft, they may be bred from working terriers, but in my eyes that makes it even worse because they are single handedly ruining a working breed.

Enjoy your show season lads, each to their own.
