smallborehunter69 0
Hi, im new to this forum but been air rifle hunting for years I currently use a stoeger x20 springer which is a nice little rifle but will look to upgrade to a pre charged at some point as miss my last one which was a airarms s410..... Juat wondering if anyone here knows much about these stoegers as its very loud and could benefit fron a silencer but even mechanical noise is quiet compared to others but i want it a tad quieter for woodland shooting and rabbits down range which all scatter after each shot which never happened much with my old silenced hw80 There is a new stoeger out called the suppresser with a multi baffle silencer on which is for a springer extremely quiet, i just wondered if these are available seperately or if you can recommend another type of silencer to go for ? garfield 23
i would try and get a slip on style silencer hw make one but not sure if it would fit without an adapter or you could get a machined 1/2" unf thread adapter put on the end of the barrel and then the worlds your oyster Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
most of the sound is from the internal moving parts, not a rush of air. i bought a slip on silencer for my hw99s, hardly a diference at 10 ft away, a little bit at the muzzle Quote Link to post
smallborehunter69 0
Cheers all ,just want the loud 410 style shotgun crack it makes a little tamer in the early morning it echo's for miles and the landowners dogs kick off with their barking not good as his house very near woods Quote Link to post
garfield 23
if its internal noise (from what i remember of the x20 it was quiet ) try wrapping it up in camo cloth that may dampen the sound abit, but if its really that loud then maybee you have a problem and it needs a strip and re build, the one we had at the club was fairly quiet Quote Link to post
dammit301 0
you don't suppose stoeger would do a part exchange for a suprressed version. might be worth the cash. but yeah i hunt with the x20. and the noise is phenomenal. real bugger when there's more than one wabbit in view Quote Link to post
