dont know how she broke her back leg when she hit it front on. vet said most will amputate but i id rather her be pts than see her like that such a happy pup that loves to run now this after losing my dog in september gutted aint the word

Get the dog to a proper vet, yours is obviously a clown!........."Leave it in a cage" (any dressing at all?).........."Most Will amputate"??????>>.......what the f**k is that all about??

I had a dog break a leg before the ban, took her to Noel Fitzpatrick (this was at the end of that October)......he put her back together and she was running hares midway through the January, your vet obviously has very little experience of this type of thing.....GET ANOTHER VET! or just tell him you want to be referred right away to a specialist bone vet surgeon.

If the vet didn't go over the dog properly - how the hell does that vet know

its broken its femur, think id tell him to go jump (and that's putting politely)

Hope the dogs ok.

there's no way of knowing the full extent without an x-ray, you have done the right thing going to another vet, and as for going down to see how much you owe him? well i would as he was the only one that would come out and you never know when you might need him again.

Sorry to hear about your dog mate im sure she will be ok they can work wonders nowadays.I agree with the amputation point i dont like it ive know quite a few tripods and while theyre ok theyre great but one cut can leave them in the shit.Especially lurchers theyre built to run and they cant run the same on 3 legs as they did on 4
