undisputed 1,664
Some lovely shots there, looks like you had a great time enjoying the scenery Got some drama going on there, but I'm not wild about the glowing halos around the rocky bits, think you should learn how to do HDR properly ha ha ha... But if you have photoshop there is an easy way to remedy that involving the clone tool set to "darken"... Thanks for the comments guys....M my editing skills are not great hence the halo...I would love to learn the HDR skills but I'm a long way off being competent in that department....still finding my way with PS but as always I welcome your views I love taking shots of stormy skys and dark clouds always add a sense of drama

Tbh I wouldn't bother with HDR (I can't get the hang of it!!!) get yourself a set of ND grad filters instead. These will help to stop the sky burning out, and a polariser can also help intensify the clouds in certain conditions.
undisputed 1,664
Some really good images there matie, what camera have you got again? Used the D300 for the mountain and deer shots and the D5000 for the rest. I need to work on the shutter speeds for the 300mm made an arse of some good buzzard shots through not having the correct shutter speed....I'll need to do some more reading methinks. The deer shots could have been better but I was standing in a bog and had to keep moving to stop sinking

anythingoes 28
Just back from a week in Skye where we had all 4 seasons in one day everyday. Here's a few shots I took dont know how the quality will be as I have to reduce the size to fit...anyway here goes. This could take awhile The Old Man Of Storr, a giant crag(mountain), that can be seen for miles around. The path starts near the bus stop before the pine trees , about a half mile after Loch Leathan on the road from Dig Dig to Staffin and the walk is relatively laid out, providing the weather is in your favour and can be done up and down in just over 4.5hrs. The Rock is self is believed to be dated between 35-55 million years old ,made up of Volcanic rock. there are some cracking cliff faces behind the rock which you aren't supposed to see due to the rocks being so unstable, i take it you ventured on as one of your shots portrays. Some cracking shots there UD and you have captured great detail. well done. atb anythingoes
lurchergrrl 1,441
Fantastic! I well struggle with landscapes - I don't have the vision for them. Give me kids and animals, no problem. Present me with a landscape and ... blank Well done
