I think a planned mating, say 1/4 Airedale, 3/4 Greyhound could be very handy dogs ! Cheers. Quote Link to post
optimus 447
GETTING A WORKING DOG IS THE PROBLEM..MANY ARE JUST SHOW PONIES Quote Link to post
skycat 6,173
Apparently there's a few up north doing the business on vermin: not the sort of people who post on the internet much: just get on with the job. Mine are only young still but showing a lot of promise. I was always interested in Airedales but never got one until I got Dill: who is from American working stock brought over to the UK. I think there is a world of difference between what is nowadays bred in the UK for show and the US working lines. Quote Link to post

skycat 6,173
There was a young adult Airedale/Grey for sale on a free ad site a few weeks back: looked a decent sort of dog: no doubt just starting on a life of doing the rounds from one home to the next Quote Link to post

Never said owt different mate.just said she had them and by all accounts they are doing well....Wouldn't be the first accidents that turned out good just as many well thought out matings turn out wrong ens. SPOTTY BACKED BIG RACK 90
Airdale has nothing to bring to uk lurchers that is not already available, any pure airdales in this country will be generations away from work tested stock. Airdale over a failed grey = another litter of culls advertised on the free ads network. Edited March 15, 2011 by SPOTTY BACKED BIG RACK 3 Quote Link to post
