pernod 466
Hi mate, A similar thing happened with a couple of my terriers a good few years ago. These two terriers were 100% safe with sheep, would walk through them without turning an eye. One day up on the hills a sheep was stuck on its back, dogs were loose, my mate righted the upturned sheep, and my 2 terriers and 1 of my mates dogs tore after it and brought it down. after quite a bit of a struggle getting them off, the sheep ran free with all the terriers screaming their heads off on their couples. it took me months to get them back to being safe with sheep, but it can be done. I put it down to the dogs associating the upturned sheep as fair game due to my mate wrestling it back to its feet. All dogs were eventually 'cured' of the interest in sheep, but we had to be a lot more 'hands on' than i have ever been with pups. Cheers Pernod. watchman 256
That the thing he was brill with them now he aint really wierd i do give him a clout when he comes back you dont want to be clouting it when it comes back, correction should be done with the lead, you might end up with a recall problem otherwise, jmo

dso88 15
I dont hit him when i recall him and when hes on the lead he hides behind my legs away from them
beddycross 18
give all the nonsense a miss !! buy or borrow an electric collar let your dog off the lead and recall him if he chases the sheep when he fails to return give a blast from the collar and see how quick it comes back it wont take long for the dog to come as soon as its called ,, not everyone likes the collars but they are really effective
