LAND ROVER Discovery 98 300 tdi, not sure if i should sell

Recommended Posts

ok so here is the dilemma,

i have a 98 300tdi manual, its only done 109k, the floor, chassis, inner wings are all mint, i have fitted the following

disco, 300tdi manual, no crunches between 1st and 2nd, apart from a few scratches and alloy surfece corosion very good nick, - £1700

XS half leather with LR logos 7 seats - £250

5 BFG all terrains, 275 x 75 x 16 (the biggest you can fit with a 2" lift. - £500

brit part cellular dynamic 2" lift with extended bump stops - £350

front alloy stearing bash plate - £90

dif guard -£20

full service including all oils, transfer box, diffs etc,- £150

full body chequer plate kit in powder coated black fitted - £80

rear carpet and sound insulation removed, to prevent boot floor corrosion, rubber mats fitted

fuel pump tweaked to give some more ponies for the large dia wheels

i run 2 lurchers, deerhound x and wheaten x and 2 terriers and often take a mate out too, these all fit in the disco with the 2nd row seats folded.

now the real issue is most of the land i go to requires a fair drive 30 miles + and the disco is ok but if the truth be told is more 50/50 on off road vehicle,

i sill required some thing to pull on and off a field, so was thinking subaru forester? or volvo xc70 the old ones?

what are your thougths? and what price could i get for the disco?

regards rob

im am always buliding them, then gatting the pox and selling them,,

thing is they are so easy to work on,

will take on board the comments about AWD, shame as they are big and thought they may do the job,

looks like its a forester then!

Willow,

Your better off getting a 90 ''300TDI Deffender''i had one for years & it was a great motor

And the DISCO you should get around the £1000 mark as long as the ''FLOOR HASN'T FELL IN''

All the best

a disco is 100% on the road than the 90, due to the wheel base (100" against 90")and the high ratio transfer box.

your right about the boot floor,, top tip go for one without sun roofs, these leak then moisture sits under insulation on the boot floor.

£1000, would concider sell at £2000 but even at that it would be at a loss.

all the best rob,

keep the disco mate better than the others especially with the work you have done you know its a good 1 but if you want a price my mate has just sold an M reg on eblag that was a bucket of holes with no T+T for £860 so a good 1 will make good money
