hullhunter 219
there would be more of a chance of taking our lass out than one of my dogs and neither is going to happen. like said if a dog dies on your watch then shit happens but if a dog dies on someone elses watch then they better be moving far away. at the end of the day you pick the slips and its our responsibility to make the slips as safe as possible for the dogs so if a mate killed one of my dogs then they would be held responsible. or to put it an other way i will not lend anything out that can not be replaced. Catcher 1 639
Nobody ever takes my dogs out except ME. I have let my mum take one of mine out before and a previous boyfriend but even then i didn't like it, if something happened to my dog while out with someone else i would be hard pushed to forgive them. So much could happen it's just to risky. I don't like taking other peoples dogs out either as it's alot of responsibility. Think its just the way we are.Pre-ban a sunday was pack day.If for some reason you couldent make it the lads took the dogs if you agreed and most times we did.Because you new the lads would look after them.and i cant rememeber another guys dog getting lost or injured.Maybe just luck.Lost a few good dogs on the field when i have been running them myself. If it going to happen it will. But as i said only one good pal and my son are alowed to take my dog out these days Quote Link to post

bendrover 556
I have one good friend who takes my dog out know and again.Hes realy doing me a favor as iam nigth shift. And he treats it as he would his own It knows it wont be allowed to take the piss.So it behaves with him as it dose with me.Also my son works the dog with his own.But these are the only two i would allow to take him out. same here catcher, only one lad can take my bitch out,she trusts him .only him.but i dont know why as hes a mad fecker how are you anyway Quote Link to post
Dunkanon 380
many years ago, I had lent dogs to others to work, and also used others dogs, but was eventually shafted by someone who I had considered a true friend when a dog he told me had not worked out well turned out to have been sold to some lads in Wales. These days I dont think I would....but would never say never, and I think Im a better judge of character than I was 20yrs ago. Quote Link to post
mexlad 189
i dont think it would be worth it to be honest, if anything did happen could you honestly say you would forgive your friend 100% i know for a fact it would be in the back of my mind forever, i wouldnt fall out with him or blame him because accidents happen but i just dont think its worth it, likewise i wouldnt lend anyone elses dog for the same reasons. terrierjohn 49
theres a shit load of folk go hill walking round here and there 2 rug munchers aswell that are anti's and have 3 lurchers that were taken off lads for using them to draw fox and badger so i dont want the likes of them coming across my dogs before i do this is only one bit where they walk round right enough so its only a small area where i cant see where the dogs are all the time and when past here theres no probs but just prefer not to take chances of having my dogs listen to more than just me plus with the right to roam theres not many places you could say was private Quote Link to post
