Had both sorts, but as has been stated, depends what your after, although nowadays, i'd go for the more athletic type, better suited to "multi tasking", jmho. B never a had a heavy bull x dont see the need if u can get a strong racey one Quote Link to post

scalesntails 118
I have a racey one that I plan to work after the summer. When I picked her up the kids liked the most heavy set one in the litter so I picked him up at the same time half knowing he might end up just being a pet. He isn't much slower than my others so might turn out decent yet although I have a feeling he is a bit too soft but won't know until I slip him for the first time. Quote Link to post
Bosun11 537
I know alot of people on this forum do and dont like bull x's so I was just wondering the ones who do like the bull x's which ones do you prefer the racey type or the big headed heavy type? As they both do the job very well! Or are you not bothered either way? The big headed bit don't make one bit of difference, as my old mate used to say, big heads don't catch foxes, long legs do..! Though so far, looks like I'm the only one who would go for the stronger type, half cross prefered. Must be of the right type though and all in proporton, bred from the right stuff, these types will be racey enough 'match fit', you only have to look to the genuine game dogs to see how they cut up. I don't want a film star, just an honest dog! Oh and lets not forget, without the halfs, the racy types wouldn't exsist. 1 Quote Link to post

FightTheBan 1,147
Kind of pointless thread IMO. Racey every time. They are running dogs first and foremost and big heavy cumbersome dogs only impress chavs and wanabees. If they can't catch rabbits they won't catch foxes. Simple as. FTB Quote Link to post
