IMO there should never be predominant white in any patterdale, it's bad enough the white blaze and feet they often chuck and if you think that white trash is a patterdale then think again.

I agree as far as white SHOULD not be predominate in patterdales but there is bull blood in their lines and since that pup is out of tight breeding mother(black) to son(red), I believe that is why the white surfaced in that litter...And as far as your white trash comment goes only time will tell , you see I am not too worried about the color of that pup(as long as it hunts) it was a Xmas present for my son, who really enjoys HUNTING terriers...Dont really care if they are patterdales or not as long as they do what they are suppose to...

Edited to say, i had a black and tan bitch from GM's stuff (or so i was told) that was put to a black un and she threw one black one black and tan and five black and whites.

Yes Busterdog, who cares , But I bet its a thinker, even those who say the white gene has to be there to throw whites, but white terriers have been around a while aint they.

But if you can say trace a line back years(whos to say its true anyway.)

And they say its all blacks, how about the all black dogs starting to throw the black and white pup, white chest/white sock?

maybe the white gene might OF came out more on certain litters.

I for one would love to see one of these so called white Patts.

I know who emntioned it, just from sites, maybe these people might come on and shed some light on this.
