belgian cattle dog x greyhound.

Recommended Posts

Anybody ever heard of this cross. I have never heard of a belgian cattle dog before. But a lasso at work who owns a coursin grey down from good stuff stands a 32inch was tellin me she just had him studded out to line a belgian cattle dog. She showed me a picture of the bitch it looks like a bichon frise (sp) the owner of the bitch uses her for ferreting and mooching about. And wants to put speed in his line, so what do you guys reckon to the cross. (note) this is not my breeding so no sarcky comments or daft replies just opinions cheers ss

There called Bouvier Des Flandre mate, trained four for sport competition, definate lack of drive, thick as fook, big and heavy, got a nice bite on the forearm a few years ago from a dog that took the sleeve and came back for a nibble on my fine flesh :icon_redface: Waste of time adding one to the lurcher gene pool, the only good thing that could be added would be coat, but is coat worth all the other attributes the breed brings.....One came from the continent to the ringsport competition in Leominster around 2004, this dog was drivey, capable of the 12ft long and 4ft clear jump BUT as the competition went on the dogs lack of stamina was evident and couldn't be compensated by its drive, in short imo its a waste to add this blood to a running dog mix........

Don"t really see what they would bring to the mix I"m sure theres plenty of better crosses out there more than capable of doing what this person requires.

I just hope that there able to find good permanent homes for any pups produced and there not just destined to join so many other unwanted dogs in the dogs home

no someone who has got one. a very big dog with a heavy coat. feet like soup plates. just ambles around like a big donkey. temperment wise its a calm placid dog. cant see the point producing a lurcher from one but each to there own.
