Given a laser and torch

Recommended Posts

Aup everyone ive been given a laser and torch with a scope mount, a friends given it to me for filling his gun on a regular basis lol he knows nothing about it and it has no packaging. Ive got afew questions a hope someone can answer so here goes, do i moun t it on the side or top of the scope? also when you press the switches they come on normaly but when you let your finger off the beam goes off, should this happen or should they stay on? the laser has 3 switches and the torch 2 but they all do the same function. Im just abit confused lol.

looks like one that bsa do think hawke make one to tho.

the switches are just pressure pads they only come on when you press them and are ment to go off when you let go, in other words the working fine mate.

stick it on the top of your scope but have a zero check as it may nock the zero out a little, just dont mount it so that its in the way of the adjustment turrets

all the best with it mate.

The switches are like that to allow them to be easy to find when it's dark. It's the cheap way of making a "pressure pad" wiring two or three switches together in parallel. If it were just one switch you could easily miss it when you reach for it in the dark.

As for where to mount it, that all depends what you want it for. If you're thinking of using it as an alternative aiming device then you'll want to mount it above the barrel, probably on top of the scope is the easiest place so it doesn't obscure the scope picture. You'll need to decide what distance you want to use it at, depending on the quality of the laser you probably won't get much useful service out of it beyond about 10 metres, especially in daylight. So Set your target at 10 metres, then point the laser at the centre of the target and fire a three shot group. It's just like zeroing a scope, it should have windage and elevation adjustments.

Edited to add, if you want to use the laser for aim, you need it to be directly above the line of the barrel, so your torch will be to one side.
