skinning rabbit

I was out ferreting the other day and caught a couple of rabbits, So i was skinning them and i noticed a lump on one of the rabbits after i had removed the skin, I pierced the lump with my knife and quite alot of clear liquid came out. So i got rid of the rabbit to be safe. Could anyone tell me what this may have been?

Could be wrong but tape worm eggs

It was a fair sized lump mate around the rib cage area. See i have no clue what it is never seen it before and i've never heard anything about it.

i got a rabbit with 2 of them on and i pierced the and it looked like little eggs inside so i would imagine its tape worm eggs like jamie and one said

They didnt look like eggs though mate it was just a clear liquid that squirted out could have been that, I was talking to my father last night though and he said it might be idatis or something like that he said though but it's usually a milky colour.

Tape worm cyst, if you had opened it up you would have found eggs in addition to the fluid from the cyst. I don't think that rabbits can carry the true Hydatids, but there are a few different other Tapeworms they can carry.

Rido mate, well i didn't look inside i just pierced it. Thought i better get rid of it just to be safe.

I found green cysts on a couple of livers in one area oblong with dots in , one of those places where the land owner Is convinced there's millions of rabbits lol and even though you get a good bag and all the holes are full of leaves and not being used there's still thousands they know , winds me up when they say is that it only 15
