Put your cocks away lads, and get the thread back on track.

Yous are all laughable. Even the most mentally challenged dogman would realize that a fit and healthy red stag in its prime is NEVER going to be had with one dog.   I work alongside reds every day w

theres a pic in one of darcy books of a stag taken with two bull crosses. . .

Nope not a chance of a dog doing it single handed, ive seen reds run a good few times and had dogs on them myself, seen some good big strong dogs come back faster than they went in as well and wouldnt go back,if someone has seen a single dog do a red stag on its own on here with there own eyes ill be suprised ,its more likely come from rumours or a complete fluke either the stag was ill sick and old ive not read the thread i cant be arsed but ill bet my arse theres a few divs said they have heard or seen dogs do them  and there probs the divs that have only had 3 deer in there entire lifetime nevermind even seen a red stag

ALRIGHT GUYS .

I WOULD SAY NO .

MYSELF AND A FREIND YRS AGO HAD 2 70ILB DOGS ON A RED STAG ONCE BOTH DOGS HAD A GOOD HOLD OF IT AROUND THE NECK AND THE POWER OF THE BEAST WAS UNBELIEVEABLE IT JUST CHARGED THROUGH A THICK HAWTHORN HEDGE AND BOTH DOGS WERE BRUSHED OF LIKE FLIES.

SO ID SAY NO

found this doing some research on wolves:

"Single wolves have occasionally been observed to kill large prey such as moose, bison and muskoxen unaided"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_wolf

If a single wolf can take down a bison single handedly maybe a GOOD dog would have a chance of taking a red stag. I dont think a lurcher but maybe a running mastiff type would be the best bet.

Not being funny pal but have ye ever seen a canadian timber wolf ?? 3 good dogs wouldnt even take 1 of them either  trust me a good dog on its best day is not going to pull a fit healthy low land red stag

I agree but a bison is way more powerful then a red stag, thats all i was getting at.
