patdahat 41
i have just got a nov cova 54, i intend to hatch phesants, i have it running now for 3/4 days to make sure i have everything running ok before the eggs come alomg. just yester day i got a hydro meter. put it into the incubator yesterday morning and this morning it is reading 42%. there is water in the tray and the temp is holding ok at 99.5 degres F. will i need to add an extra tray of water OR is the meter reading wrong? i would have taught that the water tray in the incubator would hold the right ammount of water to get an average of 60-65% humidity. what i have read the humidity should be 60-65% and risen for the last 3 day's. cheers pat... tiny tim 22
i think i,ve got th esame incubator and mine works exactly the same...the water container is okuntil the last few days and then i fill the botom of the incubator...this takes it up to the right humidity Quote Link to post
patdahat 41
would that not drive the humidity through the roof, for the reason that the contanier is about 1 sixth of the base so by filling the rest of the base would increase the humidity by 6 times? Quote Link to post
tiny tim 22
usually takes it up to about 70%....if your doing a dry run just try it and see Quote Link to post
