a bit of wheeling & dealing THEN???

Recommended Posts

Hi every one

Chaz & I met up with Andy & Rekowski today, for Air gun business ££££

My self picking up Si’s HW100ST .177 :yahoo: & chaz picking up his falcon lighthunter.177

Once all the wheeling & dealing was done, I had to shim Rekowski’s AA and zero it again. Then we all we set about zeroing our rifles.

Once this was done, it was a trip out for a couple of hours! Predominately out for feather!

As the bunnies are a bit scarce after the bashing they got a couple of weeks back. We had a drive around the fields looking for feather. Had a couple of ground shots but it was a bit windy and missed a few shots too by all, then we came across a tree with loads of corvids. As we approached they were getting nervous, but stayed in the trees.

So we took this opportunity to have a few shots at them, we hit a couple of them.

But we could not retrieve them far too many thorns. We then turned the truck around for chaz and Alex to have a few shots as it looked like they were going to land again! They waited patiently but they didn’t

By this time chaz had to get back, so back to the Andys house, a change of 4x4.

Chaz was of home, we were of back out, only till my dinner was ready lol.

We headed back up the lane and in to the field, this time we had a plan to drive past the corvids tree and then double back. I jumped out half way around to try out a ground shot, in the neighbouring field. But as I got in to position it had gone

I walked down to the truck and the decision was made for me to stay here! At the corvids tree and Andy & Alex was going over to the other in the distance! I jumped over a small brook (just making it) lol; I got settled and watched the corvids for about 10 minutes. Then slowly made my way to a shadowed ever green and parked my nearly wet rear on the ground. And waited for them to settle, then a shot presented its self nearly lying on my back to get the shot as there were so many branches. The cross hairs were on the branch where I see its head pop forward, I was just waiting for it to THWACK! Yes it did pop forward. And fell like a stone with a heavy thud.

They went mad for about 2/3 minutes then settled again, giving me another chance to take a well executed shot, this shot was like shooting through a maze, but as we all know there is always a way through! As I am nearly horizontal on my back I had to adjust my body to find that path. It wasn’t long and I found it (a triangular shaped route) right to the kill zone.

As this is a position I very rarely take, I took that bit longer to take the shot. I got my body steady by way of one boot on a small tree, the other leg bent and my right shoulder lent against the bottom of the tree, and the HW100 in a vertical position, my breathing was at ease (I nearly fell asleep) :lazy: and I took aim cross hairs on target exhale THWACK!! Down it came, to lie next to its fallen comrade!

It wasn’t long before another shot presented its self, this kneeling shot. As it were two trees down, and about 35yds once again I had to find a path through but once you look long enough it’s always there! Cross hairs on target THWACK!!!! Down it went out of view, but here it hit the undergrowth below, which later I could not find

Not much more happened after this, as empty handed!! :tongue2: Andy & Alex came to pick me up as I was nearly late for my dinner!!

I could see the envy in there faces as I produced my bag!

Welcome to the dark side Davy. The HW100KT is my favourite rifle. You'll be struggling to return to the AA. :whistling:

With the full description you gave of your position, perhaps you should have titled this the Corvid Kama Sutra!

Cheers

No Ron,

Davy is now the new owner of her buddy.

Due to the fact that Davy is a true mate I sold it to him at a very good price. Less than it would have gone for to others as he has looked after me in the past in regards to Twinks and shooting invites etc so I wanted to repay his kindness back if I could.

I wanted it to go to a good home and someone I know would give her the love and respect that I gave her in the short time I had her.

It’s an amazing rifle and as accurate as any pcp I’ve shot in the past.

3 weeks ago me Andy and Davy were shooting lased 75 metres spinner targets with her in a slight breeze as well with ease.

I am now getting a brand new HW100KT in .177 again, the carbine version of the HW100 for HFT. I like small compact rifles hence my r10 now being super carbine.

I have a sneaking feeling that Davys new HW will soon be turned into a camo dipped model.

Regards
