what to feed quail

hi

i am picking up my quail on wednesday and been given allsorts of advice on what to feed and what not to feed them on it has now got confusing so could you tell me what to feed please i was going to feed layers pellet is this ok many thanks :thumbs:

chick crumb,works for me,ive tryed lyers mash but you waste more pellets are too big for them nd needs to be broken up,chick crumb is cheep nd easy to feed them :thumbs:

Vary it for the poor beggers. Mine get mixed corn, chick crumbs, canary seed, wild bird seed and Garvo quail food. Make sure you give them greens they can demolish an ice berg lettuce in minutes

Good advice Moll.. :thumbs: ..i feed mine on chick crumb and lettuce upto the age of 6wks, after that they go onto layers pellets and lettuce, i would like to feed them on a more varied diet but i have a lot of quail and it would not be cost effective for me.
