Computer help again please

Recommended Posts

Right guys , ive been having some trouble .

I have had vista on for a couple of years ( trouble free ) and also Ubuntu .

Now , Ubuntu runs fine but Vista wont start anymore as apparently -

Windows\ System32\Boot\Winload.Exe 0xc0000001 is missing or corrupt , and all i can get is the blue screen of death .

But ive still got files and pictures on Vista , as well as all my e-mail contacts etc .

Ive just installed a copy of Windows 7 on the same laptop and its running fine .

Im wondering if anyone knows how i can access the files in Vista that i wish to keep ( bearing in mind it wont start so the windows transfer programme is out of the window ) and also transfer the contacts that i have .

Once this is done i wish to remove Vista and Ubuntu all together and use only W7 .

All help is greatly appreciated , thanks , Buster .

syatem32 is were all the data on your computer related to vista is stored, if its deleted your screwd, just delete vista and forget about what you lost, if its a virus you might be able to get it fixed

Craig never run vista only Xp .. i had my pc crash twice last year & managed to install xp again after a lot of faffing

second time I had to have a bloke out to do it.. turned out it was when the windows automatic update installed service pack 3 .. so the bloke just set it so i have to install any updates manually now.. ..

Move all your files to another partition using dos if you cannot access the vista partition through the other two operating systems. This will let you access your files to copy them to another directory without having to load up any operating system.
