Im after a lurcher

Recommended Posts

No worries, like I've alwas said each to their own. All I do is ferret and I like a dog to have a bit of strength to it - I feel they ride the bumps and bangs a but better. I am not fortunate enough to have much pretty ferreting lol

anyway not wanting to hijack the thread. My point was get a dog that suits you; afterall you are going to be working closely with it for a long time and ferreting dogs need time (experience) before they are really any good.

nice type that is for ferreting and lamping trev. Green grass had a bed whippet and thats why most people keep them as a novelty. too small for a hard night lamping and a pure whippet will do as goo

i have sin the evidence i was wrong that is a very nice dog very well built not to stocky but in fine fettle what x is he

he is a very strong dog and is grey/whippet/saluki.

very quick(not as quick as my whippet outa the blocks but faster once in his stride) and now as he has got more experience as he was only 9 month old in the vid he is a very intelligent ferreting dog.

also kills fox and does 20+ on the lamp be it i only lamp at the most for 2 hours.

ps i need a quick dog to catch bolting rabbits as i dont use any nets!!!!!

all rabbits are bolted to the dogs and this dog has caught ALOT of rabbits!!

Supersam , how much of each sal whip grey is in your dog mate ? There a litter near me of saluki/whip/grey not sure how they are bred yet but if they going to be anything like yours I'd be happy to have one

Is it usual of a dog of this breeding to take fox or is it just in him ?

4/8 grey.3/8 whippet.1/8 saluki.

i think all dogs are different lad and some just have it in em for fox where some just dont.

if your thinking of getting a pup id say just make sure the parents do what you want your pup to do at a high standard
