Ideation 8,216
Any f*****g breed will do, just so long as both the dam and sire and as far back as possible on either side are doing to a high standard the job you want pup to do. Quote Link to post

Sorley x 32
Go for a type that you like the look of and that you can get on with, some people just dont gel with collie crosses and some folks are the same with saluki types. Aim for something that is going to be 22 - 23 inches at the shoulder and the same in kilos. A good coat would be an asset and make sure you look for good feet, dont matter how great your dog is if it is always lame. Get a pup at 6 weeks old then puttime in training it, training it. Show it ferreting at an early age but have no expectations for the first season. Get it used to purse nets and long nets, let it figure it all out. I like a lot of collie blood in my ferreting curs but that is personal choice I think they stay focused longer and learn the game better. But each to their own. Ferreting dogs TAKE TIME, it is all about experience. There are dogs that go ferreting and there are ferreting dogs. Good luck with what ever you choose. Quote Link to post
