good pair of gore-tex boots needed ?

am after a good pair of gore-tex boots for lamping and daytime mooching with the dogs them muck boots are to warm for my likeing lol any ideas cheers dave

Lowa are as good as any boot out there. You wont go wrong with any of there range of boots. Some will say meindl but there seems to be a bit of inconsistancy in the quality of some, with leather starting to bubble etc.

 

I've got a pair of meindl waldlaufer pro chainsaw boots and they are unbelievably good, I've worn them for 5 or more days a week for the last 2 years and they dont even look close to giving up, and thats with rough heavy work too. they felt like bricks when I first got them but gradually they softened up and are perfect now. Ive also got a pair of lowa walking boots that I must have had for 3 years now and are still as good as ever although they dont get the same use as the meindls.

 

I personally will stick with lowa for walking boots just because of the threads ive seen about the meindls peeling and bubbling on some of thier boots. Seems they dont build the walking boots to the same standard as the chainsaw boots. I like the look of the lowa combat boots, think thats what i'll get when mine give up.

 

Depends on your budget as you can get cheaper gortex boots but these will last years .

was looking at the new shape britsh army boots they look up to my standards am gunna go see them in real at the army store before a decide to buy them or the lowa boots cheers hob and jill

They do look quality them new army ones, only thing im not keen on is it dosent look like they have the clips for the laces so might take longer to get them off and on. But they are a lot cheaper so worth a go

it takes 2 seconds to put on and lace and same coming off the finish is ok and they are comfortable from the start give them a season and will see

lowa's take some beating.....,comfortable,light weight,and easy to lace up and undo,and if looked after will give you plenty of service,
