darbo 4,774
always wanted to keep some birds. hopefully will be moving house soon and will have some space. i will have the room for a 8x6 shed and approx 20 x 10 aviary. i am not even at the novice stage yet. but would do a lot of reasearch before setting up. could any one recommend good birds to start off with. the ratio of cocks to hens. i like canarys would these be suitable for my planned set up. i would be grateful for any advice please. Meroman 105
If you like canaries start off with a few pairs off Irish fancy or fifes who will breed relatively easily for you in breeding cages in your shed, with regard to the aviary try some greenfinches, siskins or redpolls to start off with as these natives are fairly trouble free breeders as well. Good luck with your new set up whatever you decide to do...
sticks boy 0
just as meroman said mate ,a few pairs of fifes and in the flight siskins and redpolls should breed quite freely for you !!!
